Someone said to me the other day "I didn't know you were a cyclist" …. My response was "I'm not"
I can't remember the last time I got my bike out so the thought of riding 430km is rather daunting. The last challenge like this was some years ago when I completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks (24 miles and 3 very large hills) … and after that I vowed never again would I sign up for something … and yet here I am
So yes I have signed up to take part in the Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge to raise money for Above and Beyond.
All money raised through this challenge will go to the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children's Major Trauma and Rehabilitation Unit. Your donation will benefit hundreds of children from across the South West suffering from traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Each year over 40,000 children in the UK are admitted to hospital with severe brain injuries but that's only the beginning of their journey to recovery. the long-term emotional and physical impact takes time to heal and for hospital can become a home for months and for some even years. That is why I have joined this challenge to help raise £100,000 for this cause.
Any donations will be greatly received and will go towards the DAC Beachcroft fundraising target which is a whopping £39,000
Thanks for anything you can spare
